Saw Whet Residence
Saw Whet is a full rework of the ground and second floors, focused on bringing clarity, proportion, and flow to a plan that lacked hierarchy. The approach began with rethinking how the space is organized, not just how it looks.
A key move is the sunken living area - a subtle level change that defines space within the open plan while maintaining continuity. It creates a more grounded, intimate zone that feels inherent to the architecture.
The palette is restrained: black and white, softened with warm metallics and sculptural lighting. Custom millwork, a defined kitchen, and an illuminated stair establish a cohesive rhythm throughout.
Design and construction evolved together, ensuring every transition is resolved with intent. The result is a space that feels composed, confident, and distinctly its own.
